Update towards the end of August

On the odd chance that anybody is actually reading this, its a quick update on what I have been up to lately.

On the work front, I have been working towards the final release of loadUI. This has kept me rather busy, especially as I try to wrap my head around the developments in JavaFX. So far, I am happy with how that project is progressing.

On the personal front, I am busy preparing for a trip to Paris, which is a combination of reward for getting the loadUI beta out in time, and a chance to spend some time with the whole team together in one place. After the business side of the trip, I am planning to spend a couple of more days there, with Karinda joining me, so we are busy organising her visa, since South Africa appears unwilling to join the Schengen agreement at this stage.

Furthermore with international travel, there is also the planning for Karinda and Emily’s trip to South Africa at the end of the year. I will really miss both of them, but I think it’s good for them to see the rest of the family.

As for entertainment, recently I had a week off, which gave me the chance to watch a couple of movies, namely Cold Souls, Conversations With God and Inception, all of which I will write about in more detail later.

On the TV front, there are a couple of series that I am following, specifically The Deep, Eureka, Warehouse 13, The Gates and Burn Notice. I used to watch Haven, but I got tired of it, and I doubt that I will continue. I also finished the short Sherlock series that aired recently.

In the little spare time I have, I have been rewatching IT Crowd, and reading Gareth Ennis’ “The Boys”.

As you might have guessed, I am a bit of a media junkie, and I hope to write more about these various properties, in more detail.
